April 14, 2014

Pres. Shulz came this week to interview all the members for the temple trip on Wednesday. He came at 2 pm and didn't leave until almost 7! Hes such a stud. We are gonna make him some cinnamon rolls with the stuff my parents sent. We get a new mission president in July I think and he has been working really hard to get everything ready. Whenever I've seen him lately he has always been rushing and super busy. But he has been such a great help to me. It doesn't feel like he is leaving and I really don't want him to go.
The last couple weeks we've been looking for new investigators, especially older men that can get the Melchizedek priesthood and we can turn the unit into a branch. We've found a few but we have only taught a few lessons each and one is a traditionalist, so he still lives the law of Moses, animal sacrifice and all that stuff... soooo small small it's coming along.
I finally stopped being stupid, humbled somehow and things are going a lot better with the branch president. I apologized in a way for being rude and impatient with him. I even met him on Wednesday and he's a sweet guy. He came to Aburah Dunkwa for the interviews with Pres. Shulz.
3 days out of the week it rained the entire day! So we had to dodge from roof to roof to get to our appointments! It was a lot of fun! No one has slipped into the mud yet but the rain season is just starting.. along with that, the rain will move all the dirt into the pipes and Elder Baird and I had to unclog 'em one night. We had to dig up the pipes outside the house with a machete and unclog it by hand... but now it is working great!!! I love Elder Baird so much! It's been a little hard not too get homesick 'cause he goes home in two weeks! It aint easy but we've been enjoying a lot! Last night we just stayed up playing card games and trying to finish off a bowl of no bake cookies. They were so good! But then everyone went to bed feeling sick!!!
Today I got to go to may old area and visit small! Francis Tetteh gave me a haircut and we got to see Kwesi as well! For some reason Francis has been growin a beard! Haha it is pretty cute.
I'm so happy Trey, Brett and Carter all got their mission calls!!!! I'm so proud of those three boys!!
Sorry this eamil is so short, I usually take notes on what to write on but I forgot this week.
Next time! Love you!
Elder Darren Hodges
